K-12

Adult influencers—formal and informal educators, counselors, administrators, mentors, family members, and others—play a crucial role in encouraging and guiding students in their educational and career paths. Recognizing this, NCWIT’s K12 Alliance serves as a vital network and resource hub for K12 serving organizations to increase the capacity of participation for all students interested in technology. The K12 Alliance provides members with research-backed programs and resources for expanding access and opportunities for all students, ensuring that future technologists are equipped with the skills they need to succeed.

Adult influencers—family members, formal and informal educators, counselors, administrators, mentors, and others—are instrumental in encouraging and guiding students in their education and career aspirations. NCWIT offers ways to engage students in computing experiences that align with their interests and passions, to inspire them with real-life role models, to celebrate students’ persistence, and more.

Realizing we cannot do this alone, the K12 Alliance fosters a collaborative community among organizations with similar goals. Through the K12 Huddle, the “Did You Know” newsletter, social media engagement, the NCWIT Summit and other educational convenings, member organizations can exchange valuable resources and opportunities, learning and growing together.

Organizations can join the K-12 Alliance and connect with a broad network of organizations with shared commitment to NCWIT mission. Get monthly updates on NCWIT resources and programs, and invitations to connect at NCWIT Summit and K-12 Huddles.

Individuals can also volunteer with NCWIT programs like Aspirations in Computing, Counselors for Computing and Teach Engineering by hosting informative workshops, student meetups, serve as a guest speaker and more.
