Welcome to NCWIT Higher Ed Learning Circles for Community & Two-Year Colleges! We are so glad you’re here!
Learning Circles are a year-long, cohort-based program specifically designed to support faculty and staff in their department-based strategic action planning for their home institutions. They provide the opportunity to learn from and network with peers, consider what data to collect, and utilize a model for how to think holistically about your program, from recruitment to retention to institutional policies. In addition, you’ll be provided with proprietary tools to help bring colleagues on board and to track your program’s progress year after year.
By the end of the year, team leaders and their change teams will:
- Understand the NCWIT Undergraduate System Model and systemic change process;
- Be able to systematically assess their undergraduate program; and
- Develop an evidence-based strategic action plan, tailored to their institutional context.
Meet the NCWIT Learning Circle Team:
- Jamie Huber Ward, Ph.D – Associate Director of Higher Ed Initiatives
- Kiersten Ferguson, Ph.D. – Faculty Research Associate for Higher Ed Initiatives
- Nancy Binowski, M.S. – Professor of IT, County College of Morris
- Erin Carll, Ph.D. – Associate Director of the Center for Evaluation & Research for STEM Equity
Below you will find a downloadable schedule for your Learning Circle courses, community meetings, assignments, and activities (note that dates are subject to revision if deemed necessary by the facilitators):
