Introduction Sustainable, systemic change in higher education doesn’t happen by accident—it happens through intentional collaboration. This quick micro-course is designed to help programs and departments thoughtfully form and structure change teams capable of advancing strategic initiatives designed to broaden participation and enhance student success. Rather than focusing on what change to implement, we’ll briefly overview who will carry the work forward and how to structure teams for impact. We’ll discuss practical guidance for determining team composition, clarifying roles, engaging partners and liaisons, and recognizing the time and labor required for meaningful institutional change. By the end of this micro-course, participants will be able to: Identify appropriate team size and composition for a higher education change initiative. Differentiate between key team roles (Team Leader, Core Team Members, and Team Partners/Liaisons) and understand their respective responsibilities and time commitments. Develop strategies for recognizing and sustaining team member engagement to prevent burnout and support long-term systemic change.
