For almost 25 years, Dawn Morrison has dedicated her public life to working on behalf of students enrolled in public schools in Virginia and Alabama. She is currently employed with the Alabama State Department of Education in the Office of Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development, where she serves as the Education Administrator for the Commerce and Information Technology Unit. Dawn was assigned to the State’s first standards writing committee to include computer science for K-12 education. She is a member of the Governor’s Computer Science Advisory Council and plays a key role in advocacy and outreach efforts to expand computer science education in Alabama. Professional interests include: data-driven quality improvement; education equity; information literacy; and curriculum development. Dawn received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and her master’s degree from Troy University.
