Carol Cohen is the Senior Vice President and Head of Talent at CVS Health. In this role, Carol’s team is responsible for attracting, retaining, developing, and engaging talent to unlock the power of nearly 300,000 colleagues to transform healthcare. As a key driver of CVS Health’s “one company” culture, Carol is helping position the company to play a leading role as the trusted health partner to millions of Americans.

Prior to joining CVS Health, Carol served as SVP, Global Talent at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Carol helped to shape and deliver on the organization’s talent strategy and HR transformation on global talent management, diversity and inclusion, leadership development, people analytics and engagement to be industry-leading. She was also a founding member of the Board of Directors for the Cognizant U.S. Foundation, a $100 million non-profit dedicated to enhancing STEM education and career pathing to address the U.S. shortage of digital talent. While at Cognizant, Carol co-authored The New Leadership Playbook for the Digital Age: Reimagining What It Takes to Lead with MIT Sloan Management Review.

Carol has more than two decades of experience in strategizing and implementing Human Resources and global talent initiatives that drive positive business outcomes and dramatically improve employee performance. Her expertise has significantly elevated results for senior executives, cross-functional teams, and global businesses. She has worked across a broad spectrum of organizations, including Fortune 500 corporations, small businesses, and non-profits.

Before her roles at CVS Health and Cognizant, Carol was Vice President of Talent and Engagement for Thomson Reuters and Vice President of Global Talent at American Express, leading large-scale global talent management, succession planning, data and analytics, leadership development, and strategic planning and measurement initiatives. Before moving into Human Resources, Carol spent several years working as a management consultant for Perform Consulting. In that role, she led organizational effectiveness, transformation, and business process improvement efforts across technologies, retail, energy, and financial services.

Carol earned her MBA from the University of Colorado and her undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology from Rutgers. She is a strong proponent of social responsibility and global diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Carol is also a frequent speaker on HR, Talent , and Diversity at industry conferences and business schools such as MIT, London Business School, and People Analytics World.
