Cameron Fadjo

Cameron Fadjo, PhD is the Founder and CEO of the Computing Innovation Center (CIC), a creative computing program for K-8 students, and an instructional technology program lead with the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC). As a Learning Engineer with 15 years of experience in education, Cameron combines his research background in the science of learning with technology to create more equitable, accessible, and impactful educational experiences for all students. Prior to his most recent ventures, Cameron was a Project Lead in Computer Science Education (CSEd) in the Research group at Google in Mountain View, CA where he led various CSEd projects (such as Exploring Computational Thinking and, in partnership with the National Center for Women and IT (NCWIT), EngageCSEdu). In 2012 he joined the NYC Department of Education as the Director of Software Engineering Education where he led the design and development the Software Engineering Pilot (SEP) program, a comprehensive computer science curriculum and program for NYC students in grades 6-12. He is the co-chair of the Male Advocates Work Team at NCWIT. He holds a PhD in the learning sciences (Cognitive Studies in Education) from Columbia University and a BM in Music Synthesis from Berklee College of Music. Cameron enjoys spending time with his family, ski racing, cycling, and traveling.
