Linda Werner

Linda Werner headshot

Dr. Linda Werner is an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Science Department and a Lecturer in the Technology and Information Management Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She also has extensive experience teaching at the community college, high school, and junior high levels, and many years of experience in software engineering. She actively works to increase the numbers of female computer science students and has participated in several projects funded by the National Science Foundation. Her research areas include software engineering, computer science education, children and computer game creation, testing, increasing diversity in the computer science field, and social issues.

Werner is affiliated with the Center for Games and Playable Media and with the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society. She has a BA in Mathematics from Clark University, and an MS and PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego.
