Associate Professor, Information Systems

Shalini Kesar is Associate Professor in Information Systems, department of CSIS, Southern Utah University (SUU). She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi, a MPHIL in information systems from De Montfort University, a MSC in analysis, design and management information systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Doctorate in information systems from the University of Salford from UK. Her research expertise is in cybercrime.

Dr. Kesar’s areas of research and expertise are in information systems security and gender in information technology. As a teacher Dr. Kesar has developed and taught MBA programs designed for business people in executive leadership positions. 

Dr. Kesar is the SUU representative for the Utah Women and STEM Education Network. She is a member or NCWIT and recently served as a committee member for the Award for Aspirations in Computing, which was held in Utah for the first time this year.

Based on her publications, scholarship, and community outreach at the local, national, and international levels Dr. Kesar received both the Outstanding Research and Scholarly Activity Award for the College of CIET in 2010 and the Southern Utah University Outstanding Scholar of the Year Award in 2011.
