NCWIT research staff, including members of the NCWIT Higher Ed team, are looking forward to attending and presenting at the SIGSCE Technical Symposium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Please note: All times listed on this page reflect the local time zone, Eastern Time.

Organized by the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE), this annual event is the organization’s flagship conference. The symposium addresses common problems among educators working to develop, implement and/or evaluate computing programs, curricula, and courses, and also provides a forum for sharing new ideas for syllabi, laboratories, and other elements of teaching and pedagogy, at all levels of instruction by providing an array of technical sessions and opportunities for learning and interaction.

Broadening Participation in Computing Alliance Booth

NCWIT is proud to once again join Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Alliance partners at a triple booth throughout the conference. Stop by to meet with representatives from NCWIT and the following organizations:

BPC Alliance Accelerator

This is an invite-only meeting for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) alliances, which serve as national resources for broadening participation in computing research and education. The BPC-A Accelerator brings together BPC Alliances to advance our mutual goal of BPC by sharing knowledge and maximizing use of the tools, knowledge, and resources available across the Alliances to develop sustainable solutions to expand opportunities in computing and equip the future workforce.

Throughout the conference, NCWIT Senior Research Scientist Lecia Barker will serve as one of two ethics facilitators on site who can be contacted in person, via email, or through the conference application. Learn more online.
