The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors high school women who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions. This multi-tiered competition includes recognition at the national and local levels, serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and all U.S. overseas military bases.
Each Affiliate Award winner receives recognition at an Award event, an engraved award for both her and her school, scholarship and internship opportunities, access to a peer network of technical young women in the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Community (sponsored by Bloomberg), and may receive various other prizes — computing resources, gadgets, sponsor-branded swag, and more.
Each National Award winner receives various prizes, cash, and a trip to Bank of America headquarters on March 3-5, 2017 for a celebration and networking with Bank of America employees.
The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Educator Award publicly celebrates educators who encourage high school women’s interest and participation in technology pursuits. Educator Award recipients form a national community of peers, share practices, and empower other educators to encourage the participation of women in computing.
Each Educator Award recipient receives $250 in cash and up to $750 for participation in computing-related professional development activities, recognition at a local Affiliate Award event, increased visibility in his or her school district and community, NCWIT resources and promotional items, and an engraved award for both the Educator and his or her school.
The NCWIT Collegiate Award honors the outstanding technical accomplishments of college women of any year of study. Conferred annually, the NCWIT Collegiate Award recognizes technical contributions to projects that demonstrate a high level of creativity and potential impact.
Each Collegiate Award winner receives an engraved award; $10,000 in cash ($2,500 for Honorable Mentions); a trip to the NCWIT Summit on Women in IT in Tucson, Arizona on May 22-24, 2017, including a private networking reception and award ceremony; computing resources, gadgets, sponsor-branded swag, and more.
