2017 NCWIT Summit – “Intersectional Analysis of Gender in STEM Education” Workshop by Nicole Else-Quest

Published on 05/23/2017

Review the current research on gender differences/similarities in STEM-related attitudes, affect, and achievement. As we explore research conclusions, assumptions about gender and claims about essential gender differences will be critiqued. We will also examine the intersectionality of gender, race/ethnicity, and class, with attention to approaches that can foster the success of students from underrepresented groups in STEM education and careers. Additionally, we will learn strategies for interpreting claims about essential gender differences.
