NCWIT Entrepreneurial Alliance
The NCWIT Entrepreneurial Alliance will not meet in May; instead, it will meet as part of the We Own IT summit in New York City, June 7-8, 2010. For more information about the Entrepreneurial Alliance or to inquire about membership or upcoming meetings, please contact Baat Enosh.

NCWIT Extension Services Consultants
Extension Services (ES) provides customized consultation services to members of the NCWIT Academic Alliance (AA) for implementing systemic change in their undergraduate programs (UP) in ways that increase enrollment, retention, and graduation of women.
On May 18, NCWIT Extension Services Consultants will meet for a morning of planning and discussion about ES clients, progress metrics, and using NCWIT resources to accelerate reform within departments. We will have lunch with NCWIT Pacesetters members and check in with them on their progress. In the afternoon, we'll join our Academic Alliance clients for their promising practices poster session.
On May 19, we'll join the Academic Alliance members for their morning workshop.
Please contact Kim Kalahar with questions.

NCWIT K-12 Alliance
Please join us for our K-12 Alliance meetings during the NCWIT Practices Summit in Portland. K-12 Alliance meetings will run both Tuesday and Wednesday – please plan to attend both. We'll be meeting new members, examining resources, discussing CS education policy and making key decisions that put our strategic plan into action. Our K-12 membership represents 27 leading organizations and our Alliance becomes more diverse and has a greater reach with each new member.
Our focus is on driving change to increase girls' and women's meaningful participation in computing. Please be ready to join project committees intent on making a positive difference.
For questions please contact Jane Krauss or Katie Ertz.

NCWIT Social Science Advisory Board
Please join us for our two-part SSAB meetings. The SSAB meeting on Wednesday, May 19, will open with a keynote address by Sapna Cheryan, whose research, "Debunking Stereotypes to Attract Women: How the "Computer Geek" Image Steers Women Away from Computer Science", has gained widespread national media coverage including in USA TODAY, Science News, Fast Company, Wired, and many others. Afterwards all SSAB members will be invited to give short updates on their latest work as it relates to women and technology. Then we will have the opportunity to review and discuss new NCWIT materials that have recently been completed or are in progress.
On Thursday, May 20, the SSAB will discuss NCWIT's Theory [working model] of Change. NCWIT CEO Lucy Sanders, NCWIT core social science staff, and NCWIT's external evaluator will participate in this important discussion.
We hope you'll be present for all of Wednesday and Thursday, and, if your schedule allows, Tuesday afternoon when you will have the opportunity to participate in Academic, K-12, and Workforce Alliance meetings.
For more information please contact Stephanie Hamilton.

NCWIT Workforce Alliance
Workforce Alliance meetings will run both Tuesday and Wednesday with different agendas, so we hope you'll plan to join us for both. We'll be debuting new resources and conducting a training session on the new Supervisory box. You'll have a chance to participate in working sessions on WA projects and interact with a lot of new people. Our WA membership is now at 75 individuals representing 28 leading organizations. More senior executives are engaged in the WA than ever before.
To keep the momentum and ensure accountability, our Co-chairs named Project Leaders and formed teams around three "WA Projects in Action" for 2010. Our focus this year is on implementing change in our own organizations to increase women's meaningful participation in computing. Please join our teams in making an impact.
New this year! On Wednesday, please bring your organization's corporate trainers, diversity and HR managers to participate in a hands-on training session on NCWIT's new WA-sponsored Supervising-in-a-box Series, led by Dr. Catherine Ashcraft, NCWIT Senior Research Scientist.
For questions please contact WA Program Director Jill Ross at 303 735-1158.
